Festive concert of the Semmelweis Memorial Year

We are celebrating Semmelweis Ignác in 2018, who was one of the greatest figures in Hungarian medicine, the “Saviour of Mothers”, born two hundred years ago.
One of the most important events of the memorial year is the concert where the Danubia Orchestra Óbudai performs four works by Máté Hámori, which were created in the same year as the main masterwork of Ignác Semmelweis.

Bánk bán overture by Ferenc Erkel is followed by Liszt’s A-major piano competition, with the contribution of the young pianist Ádám Balogh, then the Festive Overture of Mosonyi and the A-major serenade by Brahms will close the evening.
